what's Asian fusion, Jia Hui?

Being vegan is Asian fusion.

Take tofu scramble: A popular substitute for an American breakfast of eggs is firm tofu (originally Chinese) scrambled in turmeric (Indian) and other spices (various).

There are also fusion restaurants, of course. Another example is the naanwhich (Pic: don't mind the fork, haha)-- a sandwhich of aloo gobi, cauliflower potato, in naan, flat bread. That's Indian food eaten in a (American) wrap style. Also fusion are the ever-trendy tortilla wraps.

Yeah, food is food. We all eat staple fruits, veg, beans, grains. History of trade and migration have influenced cuisines so much that we can't clearly say what area it is from. Asia is where the spice trade began, so I'd say it's prime.

There are still some flavors and niche crops that are distinct. (That's why we should try imported things and travel!)

I don't usually cook straight-up Chinese food.

And sometimes, I adapt authentic ethnic recipes to what I have on hand.

It's a mishmash and I recognize that. East meets West (and South and North).
